It works

onDecember 22, 2012
We had to replace a old dishwasher that came with the house. WE did not realise how bad the old one was.
This dishwasher was easy to install and runs very quiet and gets the dishes very clean.
I am very impressed
The only thing I do not like is the very poor design of the knife and fork rack.
I have upgraded it by installing some tie wraps to hold the separators in place. Obviously the designer of this item has never ever used a dishwasher. Other than that so far I am impressed.
Pros: it works
Cons: baskets

NOT WHAT I EXPECTED

onDecember 2, 2011
YES, THE MACHINE IS MUCH MORE QUIET THAN THE JET PROPELLED KITCHENAID OF THE EARLY 70'S BUT THERE IS MORE THAN NOISE TO CONSIDER. THE MORE I EXAMINE THE NEW MACHINE THE MORE IT APPEARS TO BE THE SAME AS OUR 10++ OLD KENMORE. THE DISH RACKS ARE VIRTUALLY IDENTICAL EXCEPT THE NEW TRAYS ARE FLIMSY.... JUST SET THE MACHINE UP LAST NIGHT SO NO COMMENTS ON ITS ABILITY TO CLEAN DISHES, EXCEPT THAT THE CHEF RAMSEY DISHES DO NOT FIT WELL, CUPS AND DINNER PLATES IN PARTICULAR.
Pros: Simple setting
Cons: flimsy racks

Dishes do sparkle

onSeptember 15, 2011
Choose KitchenAid because European models were smaller and I didn't think my cereal bowls would fit in the racks for proper cleaning. I also choose this model because it had the options that I would use. I'm not one to get all the bells and whistles just because.... It's quieter than my other KitchenAid dishwasher that I had for 18 years. Only reason I needed a new one was because porcelain tub sprang a leak other wise it still had awesome cleaning ability, but was very noisy, dish racks still looked like new as well. I don't think I'll get 18 years from this one though. If I'd had upgraded in models maybe racks would be more sturdy, but it's sad to think that you need to upgrade just to get sturdier rack mechanism. You have to use rack handle in order to move the top rack back into the dishwasher without it wobbling. Having the utensil basket on the right side of bottom rack is not as handy as having it located in the front of the rack. Awesome cleaning power, although disappointed that the sprayer arms are plastic and not metal like my other KitchenAid. Not sure I'm pleased that I choose Stainless Steel front as I'm constantly wiping the front of dishwasher because of water marks. Extremely easy to operate and hook up was a breeze for my husband although we had to buy an elbow because piping configuration was made to newer model. Sale representative sold this part to us before we left store.
Pros: Simple setting, Easy to use
