We purchased a Frigidaire Ceramic top Stove and banged the stove top lightly and the whole top cracked. we contacted Frigidaire as this seemed unreasonable with such a light tap and they would not help us AT ALL. We then had to purchase a new ceramic top which cost over $550. I have seen numerous other people do much worse to their stovetops and they have never cracked and I would never purchase such a fragile stove again. Please heed this warning!
